Picture the Scene: You are within the Atrium on the Upper floor of the Copthorne Hotel, at the Quayside overlooking the river Tyne.  In front of you is the awesome view of the heart of Newcastle.  Behind you you hear the numerous conversations of small groups of people, all are likeminded Ex Forces people here to get out of the event exactly what they need for their personal development, employment opportunities/business growth or even just the chance to remininisce.  On a prompt from the host the volume from within the room begins to dissipate.  The host stands on his chair and starts, 'Hello ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to the Newcastle Liquid List meeting....'  And so begins the branch meeting!

 



If I was to attend what would I need?
  

Anyone attending the meeting should at least have an idea of what they are looking for, Job Seekers looking for employment opportunities for example, or in business members looking for new contacts.

If at all possible then do your best to turn up with a business card. Job Seekers will be issued with a card at the reception prior to entry.

Obviously with this being an evening event a little money for social drinks would prove beneficial!

Do not forget your sense of humour! Any occasion where you get more than one capbadge or arm of service in the same room, is always good for a little light-hearted banter!

What's in it for me?

As a job seeker there are likely to be a few potential employers within the audience - they are there to recruit from within the ex-forces community.

As a job seeker there are likely to be others in the same boat as yourself.  Or other ex Forces people who have made the transition to civvi already!

As a business person there are likely to be other businessmen/women there who are ideal contacts for business development.

As a business person the opportunity to use the meeting as a vehicle to access excellence for recruitment purposes .

You could of course turn up for the cameraderie of the ex-Forces network.

What will it cost me?

The event itself will cost you nothing.  you will however need sufficient funds to be able to purchase your liquid refreshment at the meeting.

Opportunities will no doubt arise for businesses to sponsor the meetings but they will be coordinated via the Host.

Who are the Hosts?

The Hosts are Simon Coatsworth, John Lighten and Mick Straker all of which have experience of the military.  They now coordinate a business called Trade Teams.

What should I wear??

If you are a job seeker then surely it's in your interest to assume that your next employer is within those attending. Therefore dress accordingly!
